Minor Procedure Appointments
Because demand is high for these services, the Practice has a waiting list and patients will be assessed according to the urgency of the procedure in question.  Patients may be contacted at short notice if an appointment becomes available, routine procedures are undertaken on a first come first serve basis.
Consent
Patients will need to be assessed and prioritised before undergoing any minor surgery procedure.  We are required to obtain your written consent prior to the procedure to confirm that you agree to it, a copy of the consent will be included in your medical record for future reference. A parent or guardian will be required to sign the consent on behalf of their child.

Minor Surgery at Dr O'Donnell & Partners

Minor Procedures, Joint Injections & Cryotherapy
The Practice offers its patients' a range of minor operations that are performed in the surgery as a convenient alternative to attending hospital.  Patients' may have their minor procedure undertaken by a GP other than the one they are registered with.  This will depend upon the procedure to be undertaken and the availablity of suitable appointment slots.

The Practice also offers a joint injection service to its patients where these are needed.  In addition, we offer a nurse led cryotherapy (freezing) clinic to deal with warts.

What is cryotherapy?
Sometimes known as a freezing clinic, cryotherapy involves freezing warts using small amounts of very cold liquefied gases such as carbon dioxide or nitrogen. Cryac is a very simple and quick form of minor surgery that our nurses and doctors routinely perform.
