DVLA Medical appointments

DVLA medicals are undertaken of a morning on Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Fridays other than during peak holiday periods when the times may vary.  All appointments must be pre-booked and can only be undertaken once the DVLA have notified us that you require a medical.  It is important to observe the specific terms and conditions stipulated in the letter you receive from the DVLA otherwise the medical may not be allowed to proceed.  Where you are required to make payment you must ensure that you either bring cash or can provide a cheque (supported by a valid cheque card covering the value of the medical).

We are not permitted to provide patients with copies of the DVLA report.

DVLA Medicals at Dr O'Donnell & Partners

Driver Vehicle Licensing Agency - medical centre

Dr O'Donnell & Partners is the accredited DVLA medical centre for the northern part of Hampshire and for West Surrey.  Our doctors are fully trained to undertake examinations and testing in accordance with DVLA strict requirements.

Medical requests are issued by the DVLA for a number of reasons.  For example, to determine the fitness to drive of individuals who have short term licences due to a temporary medical condition; to assess the suitability of drivers with long term medical conditions; undertake medicals on drivers who have lost their driving licence due to substance abuse and so on.

Because of the DVLA's rigorous requirements, individuals requiring a medical who have detailed questions regarding the medical itself should direct these to the agency.

Samples

Many DVLA medicals require the taking of blood and urine samples.  Please ensure that you are prepared to provide samples.  The DVLA insists that samples are provided during your medical so please do not bring in samples with you as these will not be accepted.
