	Home Visits

	Home visits can be arranged by phoning reception on 01252 737387 before 10am if possible. To help us judge the urgency of your request, please provide our reception team with full details of your symptoms. A doctor may call you back for further information, provide advice or recommend a convenient surgery appointment. Home visits should only be requested where patients are too ill to attend surgery.

	Walk-In Surgeries

	The surgery offers Walk In surgeries on a Monday and Friday morning with a duty doctor. These appointment cannot be pre-booked and waits are to be expected depending upon on the day demand and the number of patients who have already checked in before you. We may not always be able to run Walk-In surgeries during holiday and certain other peak times so we suggest you call before coming to the surgery to check availability and times.

Appointments at Dr O'Donnell & Partners

In order to reduce the time you have to wait for an appointment to see a Doctor, we are continuously trying to improve our appointment system. From early July 2009 we shall be offering a revised mix of appointment types which takes into account feedback from patients.

The main features of our revised appointments system system are:

Patients can continue to pre-book appointments up to 3 weeks in advance with their GP either online or via our reception.
The Walk-In Surgeries held on a Monday and Friday (days of peak demand for acute appointments) will continue to maintain the excellent access this service provides.
The Open Surgeries currently provided by GPs will be replaced by an Emergency Surgery. Patients' will be able to phone in on the day. Appointment will be offered at indicative times to help prevent unduly long waits. When phoning in patients will be asked for brief details so the doctor can assess the urgency and whether the Emergency Surgery is the most appropriate one for the patient to attend. Patients are reminded that this is strictly an emergency surgery; if the GP feels an appointment has been booked inappropriately, they may ask you to rebook your appointment.
All GP follow-up appointments for less than three weeks will now be booked only by your GP who will do this at the time of your consultation.
Should the GP wish to see you in more than 3 weeks time, you can phone in to book an appointment up to 3 weeks in advance or use our online booking system.
If you need blood or ther tests and the GP wants to specifically review the results with you, they will book your review appointment at the same time as requesting the blood test. In most cases, the GP will simply ask you to call in for the results a few days later. The doctor will indicate what course of action is required. If the doctor wants you to see them or another clinician, you will be contacted.

Extended Surgery Opening

Besides the daily open surgeries we are also launching Commuter, Late Evening and Saturday morning surgeries. These are only for pre-booked appointments - emergencies appointments must still be referred to ThamesDoc who Surrey PCT have specifically commissioned to provide this service or to 999 for life threatening emergencies. We are not permitted to see emergency patients during extended opening times.

Commuter Surgeries

Commuter Surgery appointments are now available on Tuesdays, Wednesday and Thursdays for those patients who need a very early morning consultation. Our Commuter Surgery runs from 07:30 to 08:00am. Appointments may be booked via our Internet booking system for patients who are registered to use it or through Reception on 01252 737387.

Late Evening Surgery

The Practice now offers appointments every third Thursday for patients who need late evening appointments. The surgery runs from 18:30 - 20:00 hours. Appointments can be pre-booked via our Internet Access system for patients who are registered to use our on-line system or they can be booked via Reception on 01252 737387.

Saturday Morning Surgeries

Every second and third Saturday the Practice provides a morning surgery either between 9:00 and 10:30am or an Early Bird surgery from 07:30 to 9:00am. This is to give patients the widest possible choice of appointment options and times. Appointments can be booked by patients via the Internet if they are registered to use our on-line appointments system or can phone Reception on 01252 737387 to make an appointment if this is more convenient.

	Please remember ...

	If you cannot make an appointment or no longer need it, then please call us on 01252 737387 to cancel it. In this way another patient who might need an urgent appointment can use it ... that other patient might be you one day!
