Book a GP Appointment or Order a Repeat Prescription on-line

Dr O'Donnell & Partners offers its patients the opportunity to book GP appointments on-line.  The service is generally available 24 hours a day, seven days a week, 365 days a year however there are occasions when for administrative reasons it may be unavailable, for example during routine maintenance. The service is provided by our clinical system supplier who maintains a server link and is beyond the direct control of the surgery.  However, all patient data is held on our secure server located here in the surgery so that all patient data is held securely.

You have to register to use our on-line appointments system.  To register you will need to come into the surgery and provide proof of identity to obtain your personal PIN and access ID numbers.  Please note, you are not automatically registered when you join the Practice.  This is for your own security and will prevent others from booking appointments in your name. 

We regret access codes cannot be given to patient representatives or issued over the phone or by post.

Medication not on the picking list?

Hmm... can't find your medication on the picking list?  There can be several reasons for this.  Firstly only regular repeat medication prescribed by your GP will be on the list.  If its something that you order infrequently, this is not classified as repeat medication and you will need to see your GP to get a fresh prescription.  Another reason is that medication that lies dormant is automatically removed from the system after 6 months, this is to ensure proper acute prescribing.  Again you will need to either see or speak to your GP so they can raise an acute or repeat prescription if it is something you will need to take regularly.  The third reason is that your GP has decided that the medication should be be discontinued or changed though in most cases he or she will have discussed this with you first.

Live bookings ...
When you book an appointment on line, you are seeing the same appointment slots as our reception staff.  Patients can both book and cancel appointments so it's worth checking to see if any have become available if you haven't got one that's at your preferred time.  But do please remember to cancel your existing appointment first.
